Hey all! Some of you might know already that we have a new sort of gamemode/event - DvZ! We will host it at random times, when lots of players are on, but if you get ten people to join it will start a game automatically for you. To join DvZ, simply type /server DvZ and you will be teleported there. *If you join from NavalClash and not the hub, you will still have the resource pack. All you need to do is relog and join from the hub* ---> We are working on a fix for this. Below, in as much detail as possible, is a guide on everything you will need to know to start out in DvZ. Part 1: Joining the game When you first join DvZ, you will be in a lobby like this. The game will automatically start when 10 people are online or a staffmember starts it. Don't worry about the fun launcher - it's just a silly donator perk You will also find some other items in your inventory - The shop allows you to purchase cool perks using ingame points. Points are earned by winning games, and can be redeemed daily with /claim. As you can see, there are tons of monster specific, class specific, and general perks you can unlock. Part 2: Game begins After the game starts, and the timer is finished, you will be assigned a random dwarf class. If you are a gold donator (Coming soon), you can give your team an advantage by selecting your class. (In case one is in demand) Part 3: General Information The goal of the dwarves, is ultimately to survive. Our DvZ uses a dynamic game winning situation - the more dwarves there are, the more monsters they need to kill to win. The dwarves win when they either 1. Survive long enough OR 2. Kill enough Monsters The monsters win when they either 1. Eliminate all the dwarves, OR 2. Destroy 6 enchantment tables at the shrine. Eventually, the monsters can get really powerful, so the dwarves need to work together at the start of the game. Each dwarf has a variety of tools they can use to work together and prepare for the horde. These are accessible by left clicking the "Spellbook" in your inventory. If you ever get stuck, just warp to the shrine! Keep in mind there is a cooldown. The nexus is a sort of public chest, where dwarves can share the items they produce with their classes. Using the nexus is key for dwarves to have a chance! The dwarves get around 15 minutes at the start of each game to prepare for the monster horde - this is where the classes come in. Each class also has a help book that gives them useful tips on what to do. There 6 distinctive dwarf classes, each of which I'll go over. Builder Builders are the backbone of the dwarf team. They are arguably one of the most important classes, and it is the most common class you can get with the random class selection. Builders are able to fly up until they monsters release, and have the job of building the dwarven fortress before that time. Builders have an unlimited supply of blocks, and can place 3*3*3 blocks at a time if they place them on the outer wall of the fortress. Every once in a while the more builders build, they can earn builder tokens which they can use to generate useful items for them and others on their team. Here is an example of some of the things builders can do with their tokens. Builders are super important, because if they don't build the fortress in time the dwarves will not have a first line of defence against the monsters! Blacksmith Blacksmiths craft all the weapons for the dwarves. They mine gold ore and coal, and smelt it to create weapon gems. They are also in charge of repairing weapons and armor. Occasionally, blacksmiths might accidentally create a legendary weapon gem instead of a normal one. Sometimes when mining they get netherrack, which can be smelted into a warrior gem. Warrior gems provide the user resistance whenever hit, and legendary weapon gems give you a random legendary weapon. Sometimes when mining blacksmiths will receive gunpowder - give this to an alchemist to create smokebombs. Blacksmiths, make sure you put weapons in the nexus to equip other dwarves! Blacksmiths are also able to use their spellbook to craft whetting stones, which, upon use, grant armor piercing buffs to the user's weapons. Here are some pictures of the blacksmith class. Alchemist Alchemists are another important dwarf class. They brew mundane potions using blaze powder, redstone, and waterbottles, and transmute them into a variety of unlimited use potions (which use up mana and can be used by left clicking) They also enchant apples from bakers and can turn gunpowder mined by blacksmiths into smokebombs. Alchemists get their materials by mining the redstone ore near the shrine. Tailor Tailor create all the armor for the dwarves. They do this by killing cows around the shrine, and transmuting the leather into armor gems in their spellbook. Tailors are important - they are the only ones who can make armor! Don't forget to share your resources in the nexus. Consider making as much armor as possible - it breaks easily. Baker Bakers are the ones who make all the food for the dwarves, and share it in the nexus, of course. They also place cake around the fortress so that nobody ever goes hungry. They accomplish all this by breaking the wheat near the shrine. Each time they break wheat they get sugar, wheat, and other goodies which they can transform into food in their spellbook. Sometimes they will get fertilizer - don't worry about that, it's still under development. Bakers will also occasionally receive apples, which can be enchanted by alchemists. Again, don't forget to feed the other dwarves by sharing food in the nexus! Beast Tamer Beast tamer is a donator only class. More info about donator dvz perks will soon be available on the donation store. Now that you know all about dwarf classes, let's move on to the next stage of the game - the monster release. When the monsters release, all dwarves get teleported to the shrine and a witherboss spawns above them. It will continue to spawn minions, so make sure you kill the wither asap. If the dwarves are unable to kill the wither, eventually it will go away, but you won't get the buffs that come from killing it. Whichever dwarf deals the most damage to the wither when it dies becomes the legend, and gets a choice of three powerful buffs. When you die as a dwarf, you become a monster. You switch allegiances and work to kill all the dwarves. Each time you die you have a chance at becoming a new monster - with zombies and skeletons being the most common. Follow the bedrock path to the dwarf shrine, and do your best to kill the dwarfs and break the enchantment tables. A guide to all monster classes coming soon When the game ends, the DvZ server will shut down, kicking everyone. Just rejoin to the hub and wait for the map to randomly regenerate so another round can begin.
